Ed and Roberta live in a Victorian-era farmhouse in Haymarket, Virginia, where about half their 1.5 acre yard is maintained in traditional suburban fashion and about half is wildlife habitat. Rooting through antique stores is one passion. Good food is another. Ed has a pond inhabited by some 40 koi, shubunkins, and orfes. Samantha, the psycho-Samoyed rescued at www.samoyed.org, lives with Ed and Roberta.
